The position involves preparing and managing all necessary shipping documentation, while maintaining compliance with customs procedures and regulatory requirements. A core responsibility is calculating accurate product landed costs and processing all invoices related to freight and stock movements. The position also requires negotiating transport arrangements and obtaining competitive freight quotations to help optimise overall logistics costs. Close communication with internal departments is essential to keep stakeholders informed of shipment schedules and container arrivals.
The role includes handling customs clearance processes, submitting declarations, and liaising with relevant authorities. Maintaining up-to-date shipment records, databases, and organised filing systems is a key daily task. In addition, it involves managing insurance claims, reporting damaged goods, and coordinating resolutions with suppliers, including follow-ups on settlements and credit notes. The position supports bonded store operations, including documentation updates, declarations, and stock release processes. It also requires preparing regular reports such as shipping payment runs and insurance summaries.
The ideal candidate counts on Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Logistics and 3 years of experience in a similar role.
